About Edward
Ed Webb began taking pictures while in the Army in Berlin, Germany in 1985. After being discharged in 87 he remained in Berlin working as a Photo instructor and artist. By 89 he began exhibiting his photographs and studying art history at Univ. of Maryland, Europe towards a BA in Art History which he completed in 94 Having studied art in many places throughout Europe such as Picasso in Paris, Matisse in the south of France, Van Gogh in Amsterdam and a number of other Artists and art epochs in other places throughout Europe. In 1999 he returned to the US and has since been living in Pecos, NM and is now pursueing organic gardening and carpentry and ocassionally exhibits his photographs. He primarily uses large format cameras (4x5, 5x7, 8x10) and recently designed and built a 16x20 camera for making collodion negatives on glass to be printed on an Albumen/Silver hand coated paper. His prints are primarily a chloro/bromide silver gelatin toned with gold chloride otherwise they are albumen prints that are also gold toned.
